FORMATION OF THE COMPANY
OURD, promoted by the main actors of the energy industry of Japan, electric power and
mining companies, trading companies, was founded jointly by the relevant parties of the
private industrial and financial sectors in May 1970, to participate in the exploration and
development of uranium resources overseas in order to secure a stable supply of nuclear fuel
to Japan．
The shareholders of OURD, partly listed below, include all the electric power companies, the
major coal and nonferrous metals mining companies, the principal heavy electrical machinery
manufacturers, the major trading companies and a long-term industrial financing firm.
